Dubai Duty Free Cup & Concert, Ascot Racecourse - 10th August

Ascot Racecourse’s esteemed series of race days continues, with Saturday, 10th August and the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup making for a perfect excuse for a summer getaway to Berystede Hotel & Spa - set within the attractive town just five minutes away by car.

This unique, six-race contest is one of the top events in the racing calendar, with entries from across the world vying for the coveted title.

However, the excitement doesn’t end there, with a post-race concert seeing Sugababes, Scouting for Girls and more take to the stage.

Wigan Proms in the Park, Mesnes Park - 31st August

The last Saturday of the month is an important one for classical music fans in the North West, with our Kilhey Court hotel located just a 10-minute drive away from Mesnes Park in Wigan town centre, where an evening of live music can be taken in.

The area will host the ever-popular series to close out the summer season with a flourish, as the Tyldesley Brass Band perform a variety of classics for all tastes – including everything from Land of Hope to family favourites from The Lion King.

Scotland’s capital is a must-visit if you’re a fan of all things cultural, with August showcasing the best of the local and worldwide contemporary arts scene.

Bath Theatre Performances & Guitar Festival - Various August Dates

The timeless drama conjured by Shakespeare is brought to life as night descends on the historic city, with all the hidden corners of the building explored in the most enthralling fashion.

Alternatively, join us for a midweek stay at Bath Spa hotel between 13th -16th August, where guitar enthusiasts will be in their element at the Bath Guitar Festival 2024.

This year’s line-up features celebrated guitarists such as Francisco Correa and Emily Andrews.

World Pipe Band Championships & Van Gogh Experience, Glasgow - Various August Dates

Alongside the month long cultural celebrations in the capital, Glasgow will also be giving its city neighbour a run for its money when it comes to enticing events and experiences. 

The World Pipe Band Championships are set to take place in Glasgow Green on Friday 16th - Saturday 17th August, and will feature the best pipers from around the world come together for a glorious day out immersed in the essence of Scottish culture.

Art aficionados will appreciate the opportunity to visit Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience until 26th August. The display set in the SEC Centre has already seen more than 5 million people attend across the world, and contains more than 300 of the post-impressionist's works in striking three-dimensional form.
