Tomatin Whisky Distillery

Lochanhully

Nestled in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, only 15 minutes drive from Lochanhully Resort, Tomatin Distillery has been producing world-class whisky for over 100 years. Whether you're a connoisseur or just looking to try something new, a visit to Tomatin Distillery is a must visit experience you won't forget.

The story of Tomatin Distillery began in 1897, when the first official distillery was built. However, it wasn't until the 1950s that the distillery truly came into its own, when it was expanded to meet growing demand for whisky. Today, Tomatin is one of the largest distilleries in Scotland, with a capacity of over 5 million litres of alcohol per year.

Renowned whisky

One of the unique features of Tomatin Distillery is its water source. The whisky is made using water from the Alt-na-Frith burn, which flows down from the Monadhliath Mountains. This water is naturally filtered through granite and heather, giving it a unique mineral profile that adds to the distinctiveness of the whisky.

Tomatin is also known for its use of both peated and unpeated barley, which gives its whiskies a wide range of flavours and aromas. The distillery produces a range of single malts, from its signature 12-year-old to more exclusive bottlings such as the 36-year-old.
