Strathspey Railway

Hop aboard the Strathspey Steam Train for a memorable adventure.

Brought back to life in 1978 by a dedicated group of volunteers, this ten mile restored section of the original Highland Railway Line enables you to travel back in time to an era when steam whistles blew, carriage doors slammed shut and there was a familiar click-clack, rhythm of the rails, as the train travels along the track.

It's the perfect way to enjoy the spectacular views around you. The train takes you past heather-clad moors and woodland travelling parallel with the Speyside Way. Five miles further along the line the train stops at Boat of Garten where you can stop off.
